Old Park Street and Its Vicinity is a short historical sketch of one historic street in Boston written in 1920's. It's comic in that much of what is written about in present tense is as gone in 2005 as the ancient granary that once stood on the site of Park Street Church. I learned a lot though, such as the Granary Burying Ground once being an end of Boston Common and that the Almshouse and Workhouse once stood on the corner opposite where the State House stands today. Also, a picture show a big iron gate at the Park St & Tremont St corner of Boston Common that is long gone.… (mais)
