The narrator of this book didn't account for nocturnal animals! Their gentle rhyming quatrains are occasionally interrupted by animals who are NOT dozing off as planned - like raccoons, skunks, and bats. (The trout might be my favorite ("Are these fish asleep? They must be, but the whole eyes-wide-open thing is very confusing"). Perfect for those who like quirky humor at bedtime.

I loved this book and what it can teach students. This book teaches about fall and all the colors involved. I could do a read aloud using this book in an elementary level classroom during the fall season to teach students about the fall season and everything involved in the season like wind, colors, etc.

The illustrations helped to put faces to the text. If it weren't for the pictures there would have been a need for more words and I think that this would take away from the simplicity.
