I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

This story is about a Suquamish girl named Ida living in Washingtn in 1905. During this time the Government if forncing Native American children into boarding schools in attempt to ruin their culture.

I found this story to be very engaging. I liked that the author kept the cultural and hisorical aspects the main theme of the story.

I would like to incorporate this book into a lesson about Native American culture.
