Pequena biografia
Charles Ghigna (born August 25, 1946), known also as Father Goose is an American poet and author of children's and adults' books. He has written more than 5,000 poems and 100 books.

In 1974, he became a poet-in-residence and started teaching creative writing at the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA). He subsequently worked on the children's television show Cabbages and Kings and in 1979 taught creative writing at Samford University. He published his first children's poetry books in 1992, before leaving ASFA the following year and taking up writing for children full-time.

Ghigna lives in Homewood, Alabama with his wife, the author Debra Ghigna. Their son, Chip Ghigna, is an artist. [from: Wikipedia, 10/21/23]

This book goes through celebrating all the great things and people that Alabama has to offer. It is very interesting about what has come from this state and what amazing people there are. This would be good as a read aloud or personal reading for learning geography, for middle grade students like 3rd or 4th grade.

This book walks through the history of Alabama and the people from Alabama who made a difference in the world. This book could be a great book to share with 3rd or 4th graders. Within the classroom, this book could be a great example of state history and kick off a unit on state history research. This book could also be used as an example for a Middle School history project of making books about state history.

Step into reading preschool and kindergarten 1999.
This was a very different step into reading book. It is an older volume but it’s all about how the same word can have two different meanings. All the pages are similar to “the yak yakking” meaning the animal talking. “The bear bearing” meaning the bear with no clothes. While some kids may not initially get it without a dictionary, it is a great way of showing how multiple words can mean multiple things.
