Another discovery! Atlanta Deathwatch is a lean, mean crime novel that entertained me a lot! The characters are fascinating, the dialogues witty, and the action is non-stop. I liked the combination of Hardman and Evans very much and enjoyed their banter. Atlanta of the Seventies, as portrayed by this novel, is an exciting place that is certainly not for the faint-hearted.
As the first book of a series, this one sets up the basics quite nicely and gives an idea of what to expect from the next ones. I am certainly motivated enough to read the remaining Eleven in the near future!
P.S. The Kindle edition I read seems to have been edited by substituting some controversial words, I feel, e.g. the word 'quim', as mentioned in other reviews here is written as 'trim', and I don't know what else has changed...

The second in the Hardman series is as good as the first! The duo of Hardman and Evans is on the trail of an elusive professional killer who in turn is after a bunch of kids who pulled off an audacious scam, leaving many big, bad people seething. The novel is full of action, with hardly a wasted word. The chemistry between Hardman and Evans is hugely amusing. As mentioned earlier, I would love to follow through the entire series.

Following my plan of reading all the Hardman novels through, I've finished the third one in the series.
What starts as a search mission for a six-year old girl, allegedly kidnapped by her own mother, turns deadly serious, with some beatings and murders and drugs. The story moves at a fast clip from the start and I finished it in a day. The dialogues are as crisp and funny as earlier, and Hardman and Hump are as cool.
Though I enjoyed it a lot, there was a bit too much of cartographic descriptions of Atlanta than I like, which I think I did not notice in the previous books. But that is not going to stop me from reading the rest of the series, for sure.… (mais)

My fourth Hardman novel, and I am once again glad I found this superb series. The plot is, as usual, sharp and fast, the characters crisply etched, and the dialogue is hugely entertaining. In my opinion, this novel is better than the previous one - with a lot happening more than chases through every street in Atlanta. Once again, Dennis has exposed the dark reaches of the seventies' Atlanta with some light words and the effect is engrossing. Can't wait to read the next one...
