- When she couldn't find a picture book to teach her daughters the words for emotions, Janan Cain created her own, "The Way I Feel." The Cain girls, then preschoolers, modelled for some of the pictures, which feature vivid colors and characters that appeal to both girls and boys. Mrs. Cain is available for school presentations that include a reading of "The Way I Feel" and a how-to-draw presentation. A how-to-draw teaching plan is also available free at www.ParentingPress.com/activities.html.

This is a cute book which helps children identify their emotions. With colorful images that match the word connotating the emotion, I recommend this book to parents, especially those children who have a difficult time controlling their emotions. The simpliciting might help children laugh out loud at the image depicting the emotion, and therefore allow the child not feel ovewhelmed when they are angry, sad, silly, excited, jealous, proud, disappointed, scared, happy, thankful, shy, or bored.… (mais)
