Fantasy. Fiction. Romance. Historical Fiction. HTML:

Regency England has gone to the wolves!

He could never lose control...

Dashiel Thorpe, Earl of Brimsworth, has spent his life fighting the wolf within him. But when the full moon rises, Dash is helpless. A chance encounter with Caitrin Macleod on a moonlit night inadvertently binds the two together irrevocably, and Dash's impulsiveness plunges them both into a nightmare...

She never saw him coming...

Caitrin Macleod is no quiet country lass, but a witch with remarkable abilities. But when it comes to Dashiel, she's as helpless to fight his true nature as he is. Her senses overwhelmed, she runs back to the safety and security of her native Scotland...

But Dashiel is determined to follow her-she's the only woman who can free him from a fate worse than death. And Caitrin will ultimately have to decide whether she's running from danger, or true love...

Praise for A Certain Wolfish Charm:

"A Certain Wolfish Charm has bite! With its sexy hero, engaging heroine, and sizzling sexual tension, you won't want to put it down even when the moon is full."
-Sabrina Jeffries, New York Times bestselling Author of Wed Him Before You Bed Him

"Tough, resourceful, charming women battle roguish, secretive, aristocratic men under the watchful eye of society in Dare's delightful Victorian paranormal romance debut."

I really liked this one. Which is so weird because I disliked Cait and Dash so much in the previous books. But I liked getting to know them on their own. In this book, Dash, the Lycan who fought William for Prisca in the last book, has managed to "accidentally" bite Cait during the full moon, thus marking her as his Lycan mate for life. Their journey to love leads him to his past where he finally finds out who he really is and where he really comes from. The fights and the banter between Cait and Dash were amusing and it was really cute watching them fall for each other. Dash was a lot more noble than he came off in the last book and it was kind of hard to reconcile the two sides of the character. But for the most part, he was very likeable in this book. This one is actually one of my favorites in the entire series. ( )

Pleasant but forgettable read. Maybe if they had rehashed how bad the hero (Dash)had been in his past, it would have been more interesting. ( )

The Taming of the Wolf
4 Stars

Synopsis:
Dashiel Thorpe struggles to control the beast inside him, but when the full moon rises he succumbs to his baser nature and inadvertently binds Caitrin Macleod to him forever. Despite her ability to see the future, Cait has never been able to predict her own and has spent her life searching for someone to love and a place to belong. When Dash claims her has his own, she believes that she has finally found what she has always wanted.

Review:

A significant improvement over The Wolf Next Door.

Cait and Dash have a wonderful connection and their chemistry sizzles. I often found myself smiling during their witty banter.

Dash is tortured and sexy, and their are moments in the book were his suffering is quite poignant. He is not nearly as arrogant as Ben Westfield in his acceptance of Cait's abilities and even though he struggles with his true nature, he allows his love for Cait to calm his baser instincts. Caitrin is willful and feisty, and refuses to allow Dash to turn away from what he needs the most - love and acceptance.

Overall, a delightful read with engaging characters and some steamy scenes. There are also numerous hints throughout the book of stories yet to come that involve the remaining members of Caitrin's coven and I look forward to reading them in Dare's Vampyre trilogy. ( )

The beginning was really awesome. Watching Dash try to convince Catrin to marry him was wonderful. So much happened in the second half that I'm not sure it all got it's proper attention. What was obvious and beautiful throughout was Dash's and Catrin's love for each other. ( )

I'm surprised I liked this book as much as I did, for I wasn't overly fond of Caitrin in the last two books. She's still cranky, but not as much here. She and Dash (who we meet in the previous reviewed book) get together after he inadvertently claims her on the full moon by biting her neck. Little does she know the meaning of this (she is now his mate for life) and only got angry at him for biting her. He is at a disadvantage because he doesn't know she is a witch, yet she knows he's a Lycan. These crazy kids! What a mess! They journey from England to Edinburgh where he enlists the help of her father to get her to agree to marry him. Most of the story is how he wins her over and he learns how to be a mannerly werewolf - oops, I mean Lycan. Not bad, but not great either. I think this series is losing it's oomph. ( )

In a small house on Shelton Street live three
sisters. I highly doubt that they're truly sisters, but
they live very respectable lives as such by day. But
pay them a visit by night, and you will be quite
surprised. If there were ever sisters who loved one
another as much as these three, I would dearly wish
to meet them. For these take great joy in making
a menage of themselves. Initially, I thought I
wouldn't even be invited to join in. In truth, just
watching the brunette part the thighs of the redhead
and dip her face--

Dearest Caitrin,
I do hope that I have returned before you receive
this letter, but if that is not the case, I do hope
everything went well with Elspeth. I am sure you
arrived in time. You always do. Rhiannon is
watching after El's stores, and Sorcha is in her own
little world, like always.
Aiden was beside himself when he learned of his
inheritance. While any sane person would wait for
the snow to melt and the ice to thaw before setting
out across the Highlands, my brother was quite
impatient to make the journey. You should be
relieved that you are not here with me. Briarcraig
Castle is absolutely dreadful. The entire place reeks
of must and decay. I keep thinking something died
in here and no one took the time to bury the poor
thing. It is easy to understand why the Grants left
this crumbling castle to us. No one else would be
fool enough to want it.
Brannock and I are quite anxious to return to
civilization, as you can imagine. We are waiting for
the roads to be safe enough for travel, and then we
will leave this place. Whether Aidan returns with
us or not, I neither ken nor care.
    Missing you,
    Blaire Lindsay
