I liked this cozy mystery as it had an element of suspense to it and the characters were not caricatures. Enjoyable read. ( ) This is the third in the Home Repair is Homicide series. There's a salmon festival going on in Eastport and Winter is coming on fast. Jake has lots and lots of weather stripping and leak finding to do as well as trying to exonerate her husband on the charge of murder. Reuben Tate, a guy no one liked in town, who was also a very, very bad act gets killed. As does another man. Then through a confluence of events Victor gets arrested for the murders. I was very surprised that somehow, even though Victor barely appeared physically in the book, the character seemed to permeate it. I have a love/hate feeling about the character of Victor. But, I think that's because of how well Graves writes the Jake/Victor relationship. A pull and push relationship. Just like the previous books I still really liked the old house repair stuff. The weather stripping scenes were cool, but the really realistic (i.e. depressing) part was when she went looking for a leak on the side of her house. And then there was the Ellie/Jake relationship. In this book, unlike the first two I finally felt as though the two of them were becoming closer friends, the friendship deepening and growing. All in all it was another good book in the series. Solid three star mystery which unfortunately was one of the less likable things about the mystery, because while it was a solid plot, I also sorta figured out very early on in this one the who in the who dun it. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
