Maaaaybe 2.5 stars. Again, lots of rambling and things that don't matter. Read reviews of book 3 and she doesn't wrap it up. And the 4th book isn't coming out until maybe 2015? That's 4 years after book 3. Okay, I'm done. ( )

if the first book was introducing the characters and having them form relationships, then this book was about having all that fall apart.
for the the first half of this book both of our kissing relationships have some doubts. Mary Ann wonders if Riley is with her because she calms down his beastliness (like Tucker) Victoria is having her run-of the-mill doubt, 'What if he thinks I'm a bloodsucking fiend? oh, no!' and, surprisingly, Aden, too starts having doubts, though I won't tell you what they are.
the second half consists of them all (for the most part) getting over it and being attacked by EVERYTHING THERE IS TO BE ATTACKED BY. seriously, I kid you not. now, there is some getting attacked in the first half, but I didn't think of that as the focus.
now, we've got witches and faeries coming after us and *hint, hint* to Caleb's identity!
which makes me sad, cuz I don't want Caleb to go. actually, I don't want any of the to go, but, like Aden, I didn't realize that until Eve was gone.
also, as those who've read the first book have probably guessed, Mary Ann is indeed full of epic magicalness.
which causes problems for her, with, well, everyone, but especially Riley.
and there's the whole vampire-kingness with which to deal, especially cuz there's a new 'big bad' (as they're called) and you already know him, but I won't tell you who he is cuz I don't want to give it away.
yep. good book. Can't believe I could've gone my whole life NOT reading this Magical Jackpot of Awesome Sauce.

I read the first book in this series and enjoyed it enough that I wanted to read this next book in this series. I picked up a copy back when it was released. I started reading it and got about half way. However something happened and my interest got lost along the way. I stopped reading and this book ended up in my long pile of to be read books. I would pass this book many times and thought I need to pick this book up again and finish it. I finally did and at this time I started from the beginning as it had been so long ago since I read this book. Well I did get about half way again but this time it seemed that it took me a lot longer to get to the half way mark. over this book and jumped to the last few chapters. To be honest the ending was not as I had hoped and I was kind of glad that I had not spent all of my time reading this book to get to this ending. Even though I lost interest in this series, I still do enjoy reading this author's books. ( )
