The very cold case of the mystery wasn't as interesting to me, but the relationship drama amping up made up for it. =) ( ) This installment is full of changes, amid quite the deep history murder mystery. While, again, I wanted to knock their heads together, I enjoyed this one perhaps the most of the series to this point, because we know these people now, and lot can be shown and understood without spelling anything out. What Adrien doesn't understand via Lisa, I chalk up to his self-preservation-fueled habit of ignoring her. Fear is a real roadblock. Trauma has aftereffects. Healing takes time. I'm glad there's one more book before I too have to wait to see if there will be a #7. Part 2 of 2 of the Adrien and Jake grow up and get over themselves finally. Guy's off with his young man Peter, finally, Nat's running the bookstore, there's a body on the third floor, and someone's hunting for lost treasure. Whataya Want From Me Adam Lambert. For Jake. Always Erasure. For Adrien. Things between Adrien and Jake changed in book #4 Death of a Pirate King...drastically. Now it's Jake's turn to wait for Adrien to make a choice. I really enjoyed seeing Jake squirm for a change...but I also felt for him... just a teeny, tiny little bit. and really hoped that Adrien would make the right choice. The books are never just about Adrien and Jakes’ on again, off again, maybe NEVER again... relationship. The mystery was front and center and it was another good one that kept me guessing and the pages turning. There is one more book in this series and I see there is also a short story featuring Adrien and Jake but so far haven’t been able to locate it. I so hate to see this series end but the good news is that I can now revisit the series whenever I want... that's what re-reads are for, right? This is one series that really should/must be read in order since one book picks up and carries on the story from the last book. The book was about much more than the relationship between Adrien and Jake. As in all of this authors books the mystery was front and center...and as always...it was another good one that kept me guessing and the pages turning. It also was a fitting finale to “The Adrien English Mysteries” series, but I really am not ready to say goodbye. On further checking there seems to be one more story left and perhaps a novella... so maybe Ms. Lanyon isn’t ready to say goodbye either. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
