Er, after a fashion. This is a very clever script, moving, too, at times, but also still manages to be a bit silly. There is also, delightfully, an appearance by an actor that, many Doctors later, will be the one to add the Trowel to NuWho iconography. ( ) the second of a trilogy of Doctor / Nyssa plays set in Stockbridge, which was the setting for a number of the Fifth Doctor comic strips in Doctor Who Monthly (and also for the wonderful 'Autumn' segment of the Circular Time audio play). I only dimly remember the strips, but like Peter Davison I will now see if I can buy them; Jonathan Morris' script combines nostalgia for those half-remembered stories with a decent sfnal plot which, even if it has been done several times before by Big Finish, is done well here. Particularly good also is Mark Walliams as UFOlogist Maxwell Edison, who falls in love with someone who is a fellow fan of Terry Pratchett. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
It's been a long, hot summer in Stockbridge. Longer than the villagers can remember. Summer's lease is never-ending - and all thanks to the Lord and Lady of the Manor! One man alone knows that something's wrong: Maxwell Edison, Stockbridge's unofficial ambassador to the Universe. Or 'flying saucer nut', as the locals have it. He'll need help proving it: from the local postmistress Miss Nyssa, perhaps; or the village Doctor, the fellow that's been living at the Green Dragon Inn these last 30 years. They'd better hope that autumn never comes to Stockbridge. When autumn comes, the world is doomed. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
