This book taught me a lot about Japanese customs before I went over to spend 10 days in a host family’s house. It was easy to highlight important information, and was neatly separated into categories. I found a lot of the info useful, and even though some customs are a lot more lenient than guidebooks suggest (you’re a visitor in their country. you’re not expected to know everything), but it still helped to know the proper way in doing things.
So overall, very useful, and short, which you get all your info quickly before you leave, so you’re not still reading about tea ceremonies when you board the plane. ( )
