The book is the first complete history ever written on Old Faithful Inn (1904-2004) and celebrates its centennial. A brief history of Yellowstone National Park before the Inn was constructed is included. The majority of the book chronicles the construction, early- day visitor experience, renovations of the Inn, admirers of the Inn (including some famous people), the 1959 earthquake, the 1988 fires, bears around the Inn, employee stories, upcoming restoration projects and the legacy of perhaps the west's most important "parkitecture" icon. The book includes wonderful full-color contemporary photos (some full-bleed images) and many historic postcards and photographs. End note citations are included.
