What ages would I recommend it too? – Fourteen and up. Homeschooled younger children may enjoy it. The feel of historical documents in the hand is mesmerizing. They were so well copied - you can still touch coffee cup stains, see page corners turned, and even try to read cursive handwriting.
Length? – About four evening read.
Characters? – Memorable, several characters.
Setting? – Earth, outer space, and the moon.
Written approximately? – Complied in the 2000's.
Does the story leave questions in the readers mind? – Will humans return to the moon? If so, will governments fund it, or will rich individuals fund it?
Any issues the author (or a more recent publisher) should cover? Yes. This resource was written primarily about the United States Moon program. However, it was written in British English, and using the metrics for measurements. This can cause confusion for adults, when trying to see in their mind's eye the distances that are being discussed. It can also confuse children learning to spell correctly to see so many words consistently spelled an alternate way.
Short storyline: The story of the United States trials and tribulations when trying to reach the moon. ( )
