I can hear children trying to sneak cookies and chanting softly I'm bad, bad, really really bad" and then when the get caught saying "But I'm belly-babbling, tummy-talking, gut-grumbling hungry!" The lessons of the Bad Boys books are minor, but anything that gets kids to love books & language is a Good Thing. I don't think the wolves will ever learn to hide their tales under their disguises. But by the end of this adventure, I think they did learn that keeping house and looking after chicks is a lot of work!" ( )

This was another good story from Palatini. The varied sentence length and fragments are masterfully employed. The illustrations are top of the line. I love Henry Cole's work. Always amusing. ( )

Maybe if I living in cabin with no T.V. or NetFlix...this might be somewhat funny? Not sure how Palatini scored good SLJ and Booklist reviews, but the jokes in this story are worse than my geology profs sad little attempts at humor.
The layout of the book is not appealing, with so much white space, it looks like a vanity press title. ( )
