This beautiful photo book follows the course of one day in our world. Sunrise to sunset is captured in the essential things we all do daily, wherever we live in the world, and in the different ways we do them. A book of photographs of children around the world, living their daily lives: waking up, eating, going to school, doing chores. e photographs show that we have much in common, no matter where we live

Rich photography from National Geographic, combined with words of wisdom from Barabara Kerley reinforce the concept of a global family in this wonderful picture book for young readers. Gorgeous photos follow the course of a day in the life of a child on our planet, from children in India walking the streets to school, to baseball practice, cricket practice, rice dinners and pizza, we explore the lives of children around the globe. Poetic text celebrates the many ways of life. Notes and a map in the back provide curious readers with more information about where photos were taken.

A great multicultural book for presenting children's life around the world, using exquisite, moving photographs and Barbara Kerley’s poetic text to convey a simple yet profound concept: we are one global family. This is also a sophisticated concept book, presented as an elegant picture book with contributions from top international photographers. At the end, each image is reprinted as a thumbnail and accompanied by a detailed caption. It fits in elementary school students.
This book uses a combination of text and pictures to portray the information. It is an interesting technique, as the text shows the similarities and the pictures are what differ (for example, "Time for school." is accompanied by many pictures of the many different ways in which children get to school). The information is accurate in this book, in that they are real pictures. ( )

Critique:
It is a good multicultural book for it presents children's life around the world. No subjective words included, which is good for children to read and have a general idea about how other kids live their life.
Age appropriate:
Kindergarten, primary school ( )

This book is about the life of people around the world, in one day. It talks about morning routines, going to school, coming home from school. It shows many different cultures and many different lifestyles. This book shows cultural differences very well and praises all cultures.
