This whole series is basically retelling WWI and WWII stories in a different milieu. It's been a while since I read them, but this one is the Colditz story I'm pretty sure. The fact that the author is a former soldier in special forces, according to his biography anyway, gives a lot of verisimilitude and some lovely stories of the change from "noble war" to professional soldiering. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

There is no chivalry, no gallantry, left in the long struggle between Deraine and Sagene, and their arch-rival Roche. The fight is no longer for victory, but for survival. And in the midst of the slaughter stands Hal Kailas, Dragonmaster. His squadron of dragons soar above the carnage and dark sorcery, dealing death to the enemies of his people, but even Hal has his weaknesses ... For now Hal has been captured by a deadly foe - and without the power of the Dragonmaster both Deraine and Sagene face certain destruction. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |

Enjoyable, if not quite as upbeat (if a war can be said to be upbeat) as the first installment. Worthwhile if military fantasy featuring dragons and somewhat rough and ready heroes who don't always see their own worth. ( )
