After a decade of aimlessness marked by remaining a professional college student and drifting through relationships, Nathan Carter moves from Boston to rustic Eden, Vermont in search of a more purposeful life. When he meets Wallace Fiske, the town outcast, a strange friendship grows between these two lonely men, and Nathan slowly begins to learn the story of the love and pain that have haunted Wallace's life. Brilliantly intertwining past and present, Tom Greene has created a novel that is at once a gripping story of love and loss, a beautifully written study of the relationships that change the lives of two haunted and very different men, and finally, an exquisite love story.… (mais)

Very quick read, great story between two very unlikely men. It actually takes a little bit of a spin that I wasn't expecting and turns out to be a pretty good love story in it's own way. ( )

Well written but not compelling. Just read beginning and end. ( )

This is quite a good book, and the basic story line appealed to me quite a lot. It's about a relationship between two men as well as the men's relationships with women. I thought it could have gone further, deeper, into why the relationship problems existed. I would read more of this author, however, if I came across them in the library. ( )
