A true testimony to reading to your hearts content. ( ) For months I despaired of ever getting this last volume of this totally captivating BL story (sorry for the cheesy pun, but it is so true!) I won’t go into my history of how many different times I tried to find and order the manga but suffice it to say when it showed up in my mail today I was immediately hugging and dancing with my newest library edition. For those that don’t know, although I don’t know why you’d be starting off by looking at volume 6 if you’re not familiar with it, the series follows the life of university student, Ewon Jung as he is shanghaied into working for a semi-mafiaish boss, Mookyul, by his ex-boyfriend. Ewon and Mookyul’s relationship has been quite rocky to say the least and rife with revelations and resolutions on both parts. We join our boys in this volume after Mookyul has sacrificed everything for his “fox” and the two of them attempt to start a new life together. However, as you might imagine, business bosses with mafia connections tend to not allow their employees go very far, especially when a jealous underling gets it into his head to punish Mookyul for continuing to be the chairman’s favorite even after leaving in disgrace. Oddly enough, Ewon’s back and forth attitude with his relationship with Mookyul has never bothered me. It has always been completely understandable to me and in this volume his attitude even becomes clearer as his past is finally revealed. Through it all Mookyul never lets go and even though he is kind of a possessive obsessive scary dude, I can’t help but cheer for the two of them to try and work things out. I really loved these characters. As it has been through the entirety of the series, the artwork is very pleasing. The bishonen looks are actually few and far between (mainly just Jiho, really, IMHO), even though the men are all quite handsome. It has taken some time and more than one reading of the preceding volumes, for me to get all the different secondary characters straight, but it is so worth the effort because they all have their own little stories and personalities. I know this review seems kind of fangirly but I can’t help myself. This is a series that I’ve totally enjoyed and any time I’m left with such a huge grin on my face you know it has to be worth it :-) Although I have to say FAKE continues to be my absolute favorite for this genre, Totally Captivated is certainly an easy second that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to those who enjoy cute, funny and dramatic BL stories. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

The mafia threatens Ewon into working for a loan shark, where he's forced to run dangerous errands for no pay. The culprit who doomed Ewon to this life is none other than Jiho, Ewon's jealous ex who still burns at Ewon's infidelity. Their gang leader Mookyul, with movie-star good looks and the bizarre, drunken habit of biting people on the neck, takes a keen interest in his attractive new errand boy. Will Ewon be able to survive the violent underworld (not to mention the constant sexual harassment) he must endure as an underling of Mookyul? This funny, hip title by Hajin Yoo will thrill and amuse fans with plenty of intense shonen-ai action. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
