I liked this book because it gave the reader a viewpoint that is not usually represented. Rarely does a book tell a story from the side of a lion in a zoo. While this book had a hint of animal rights, when it discussed how Shirley was sad that she was not with her family or having freedom, the book overall stayed fairly child friendly. The pictures excellently illustrated every part of the story. My favorite was the picture of the gift shop clerk telling the people that there were no more shirts for Shirley, and all of the faces look disappointed and one child even has his mouth hanging open. I also liked how the book discussed how others (the other lions) feel when one person is given preferential treatment. It illustrated that it is not best to remove that treatment necessarily, but to give that treatment to the others as well, just like they did with the lion names. I think the main message of this book is that everyone should be treated fairly and with love. ( ) sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
Although a lion's unusual name causes confusion and misunderstanding at the zoo, she becomes a favorite with the public and with Seymour the zookeeper. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
