This is the foundation of what is called process thought or process philosophy. This metaphysics overcomes the serious limitations of a Cartesian view of the universe that separates mind from body and mental activity from "real things." The process vision places process as primary; what we call "things" come into being via a process.

This is the corrected edition of Whitehead's magnum opus.
