This is a great biography book about our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. It begins in his childhood life growing up on a farm to his rise to presidency where he guided the nation through the civil war and saw the abolition of slavery. It talks about how he was tragically shot at Ford’s Theater, the first president to be assassinated. There’s plenty of illustrations in this small chapter book including maps. Based on reading level this is probably for 2nd graders and up. This is one book from an entire series of biographies from other presidents, to athletes, to important historical figures. These books are great for kids to read or even to read in class as they teach a lot and can connect to different topics that may be being taught. It’s a great extension for kids to collect a better understanding of something that may even have been only talked about briefly and they are interested in learning more! ( )

This book is insightful and gives the main ideas and facts about who Abe was, his greatest accomplishments, and his life story in general in how he came to be the Great abe lincoln. I like these books for reference in classes. For any type of project they may do it has so much information but it gets straight to the point is more basic for kids.

The book who is Abraham Lincoln talks about the life story of the 16th President Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809 in Kentucky. While he still was a kid he would move a lot with his family. Until his mother passed away. A year later his father married a new female who was more educated than his mom and his father. Later in his twenties the Black Hawk war broke out in 1832 and he became captain since he volunteered. In that same year Lincoln ran for Illinois state legislature but he was unsuccessful at winning. Two years later he ran again and he actually won this time. At the same time, Lincoln's law career began to flourish. In 1842 Lincoln married his beautiful wife Mary Todd who birthed two children who died while they were kids. In 1846 he was elect for us congress so he had to move to Washington to serve his term. After his term ended he decided to take a break from politics and started working on being a lawyer. In 1860 Lincoln won the republican nomination. Lincoln lost the popular vote but he did win the electoral vote which matters more. Linocoln would go on to do great things in his presidency like ending the civil war and adding police officers. In 1864 Lincoln won the presidential election again giving him another 4 years. While Lincoln was attending a Washington theater, Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth.

I like this book since it really informative. The cover art of the book as well is really interesting giving you an idea on how the 16th president looked. Somethin I didn't like about the book was that there wasn't enough detail. For an example how did Abraham Lincoln's kids pass away. Also it doesn't talk about what happens after the death of Lincoln. As well as the effect it had on the nation on losing there first president while they were in office. ( )

The Who was Abraham L book is a short biography covering the personal life of honest Abe. It also explains his views of war, politics, slavery, and insight into his childhood. This book is a great choice for researching, presidents day, and for grades 3rd grade and higher. ( )

An informative book about the life of the President Abraham Lincoln. As it describes his childhood all the way to being the President of the United States and the responsibilities and importance he had done.
