I came to these letters after my immersion in Henry and June, which details Miller's life with his former wife, and his subsequent affair with Anais Nin. I was armed with enough info and interest to go that extra step and read their letters. The days before email. Many of the inclusions are inconsequential, but that's more than made up for by the runs of letters where ideas flail and their craving for one another burns.

Nin kept her affair with Miller a secret from her husband, Hugo, and never published any of her writings that overtly mentioned Miller until after he died. ( )
