I first saw Twilight in theater and thought the premise wasn't bad, so I went and bought the whole series because in my experience the books are better than the movies. I do like the vampire genre so I wasn't a stranger to vampire myths and how other authors portrayed them. I can give Meyer props for trying to put a new spin on vampires and these aren't the best vampires books I've ever read. But this book isn't as bad as some like to make twilight out to be. Some characters are just not written very good and that is where the bad ratings come from in my opinion. I do love the Cullen family, minus Edward, and Charlie. Overall it's just an easy read and if you don't take it too seriously and just read it for a fun read, it's really not that bad. ( )

The first one was okay the first few chapters of the second one was okay but then they just got boring. I read these books because people were going on about how great they were but they weren't they were really boring. ( )

THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR LISTENING TO THE INTERNET. clearly -- clearly i should have listened to the other faction of people who warned me this book would make me long for my own death?? AWFUL, yet of course i'm going to read all the sequels. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT BECOMES OF THIS ABUSIVE, OBSESSIVE, SPARKLING~ LOVE. ( )
