I like that Weber shows not just that you should be yourself, but that you would be ridiculous as somebody else. I like the artwork well enough, but I felt it needed more color. The expressions on the animals faces are delightful. It must be watercolor, although it doesn't say. It appears to be outlined and then colored in with water colors. This is a story about hippopotamus who gets told by all the other animals in the forest that she looks ridiculous. Throughout the story, she wishes she could look like the other animals. At the end of the story she realizes that she is perfect just the way she is. This is a great story to read to children to teach them to accept themselves and others as they are. This book is good for second and third graders to read because it is a little longer. A hippo gets told by all different types of other animals that she looks ridiculous because she does not have a body part that the animals she talks to has. Towards the end of the book, she cries herself to sleep and dreams that she gets all of these body parts and really does look ridiculous. It takes this dream for her to realize that she is happy and proud to be who she is. http://www.hmhbooks.com/authors/waber/index.shtml This is a good webpage because it has information about the author, his books, and interviews with him. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
