Many years ago, there was a time when magic was too unruly to control. It was then that a wise man sealed these powers in a Lapis Lazuli stone, which was made into a crown that would retain the magic and strength. The Kingdom of Savarin is surrounded by this magical barrier and it preserves peace within the country. However, every ten years, the Kingdom of Savarin must undergo a ritual of restoring its barrier. Fifty years ago, an ancestor of the Violet family made a mistake at the ceremony of the barrier's restoration and rumor has it, she was thrown out of the palace. Now Mieru, a daughter of the Violet lineage, must learn to refine her magical powers in order to restore her family's legacy--for she has been chosen to partake in the important restoration ritual. The bracelet she wears is adorned with a lapis lazuli stone and possesses the same powers as the Kingdom's crown. Unfortunately, she doesn't know how to control it yet. Will she follow in the footsteps of their lineage, or can she somehow learn to channel her powers and restore the peace for another ten years?… (mais)

All of the characters have a fun innocence about them that is so charming. A fun, light read! ( )
