Total waste of time. dont even think of picking it.
First was deceived by the Title : there is absolutely no relevance to story and title. could have been any MNC from any of the industry.
Second was deceived by the hype: read at many places comparing the author to be the John Grisham of Banks... such a total crap.
Third the story line: there were gaps as big as moon crates ... take this as an example: a (Indian) vendor has the very high levels links on a global bank and can influence selection of country CEO and all this while he was waiting for our protagonist to appear on scene to have his work done and mint money. and when it mattered most he couldnt pull strings!!! what a plot. Whenever our protagonist Sundeep appears its either for s*x or bullshitting. The office politics (oh hang on its bank politics) is nothing extra-ordinary or clever, its the usual cheap tricks from any company only that the author is trying to glorify it.

Wouldn't recommend it even for casual read. Bankers are portrayed badly and women too. ( )

Another easy read.
Felt like a typical bollywood movie story..

Had a lots of ups and downs with some flats on the downs.. Sometimes felt things were too fast.. Maybe I am not one who likes stories which move fast..
Did keep the interest going.. But didn't feel the thrill of things in it..

Bad job of editing. Roger became Rogers, Suneel became Sunil here and there. Was a bit confusing. The reader in me found a lot of spelling mistakes as well..

Do read many of the reviews of the book with mentions of a prominent bank in India.. :D ( )

Two young management graduates, with nothing similar in family backgrounds and temperament, join the New York International bank on the same day and take two entirely different routes to success. Bothe rise up the ranks at breakneck speed: the fast and aggressive Sundeep, who will stoop to anything to get ahead, and the mature and sensible Swami, with a high regard for good old ethics. The racy narrative set in the high-pressure milieu of competitive banking carries the undercurrent of a clash of values, in the intermeshed realms of the personal and the professional. This is a story peppered with ambition and frustration, defeit and malevolence, loveand lust, and the desperate struggle for status and power. And, above all, ther is a top-notch banker who plays the benevolent god whenever crises loom over the young guns... An insider's fictionalised account of how Indian professionals experience the world of foreign banks, the story spans three continents.
