Grimes ability to make these pages transform into multiple personalities and have the flavor of the story jump off the pages is admirable and something to stay branded in the hearts of readers for many years to come. ( )

This collection of poems is all about love. It brings a positive outlook to poems. The poems include the love from a person of the opposite sex and also between family members. The poems are meant to be about African American people but can touch the soul of people from any race or culture. ( )

This book is written very simply, and I appreciate that the illustrations are of African American families. The poems cross all cultural boundaries however, and the positivity and love throughout are inspiring. Sometimes it seems like poems are only written out of despair, but this collection proves this thought wrong. ( )
