It's ok and has it's moments, but I like Moore's other books better. You *will* find out what Jesus' middle name is. (  ) A2Seamster | Jan 13, 2021 | I loved this book, and still think it was the best book club pick to date. Hilarious as well as extremely thought-provoking. I have yet to meet someone who didn't enjoy it. I think it not only shows Jesus as a real person, but also allows the reader to view the events of the Old Testament through an everyman's eyes (Biff). It's possible a seriously devout person would take offense at this but I enjoyed the humorous take on the gospel story. Christopher Moore fills in for us what Jesus did from childhood to age 30 as told from the viewpoint of his best friend Levi who is called Biff. Among their many adventures, they discover bacon. Still, even with all the jokes and kidding around, Joshua (Jesus) is still portrayed as The Son of God so in the middle of all that irreverence, there is still reverence. It was interesting. So, not recommended for strict fundamentalists, but considering, as the author himself says, if your faith can't handle this bit of humor its perhaps not a strong faith after all. "Lamb" is an incredibly compelling work even for readers who don't agree with Moore's conclusions. The book is also laugh out loud funny at times, which really helps during some of more irreverent parts of the story. Interesting, original, not for every taste. Pertence à sérieFoi inspirada por
