So, once I figured out it was fiction, I was well on my way into the book...it truly would have been a fascinating serial killer account. The novel opens at the home of Norman and Terri Spencer whose home has just been invaded by a monster...who is later revealed in the book. This monster kills Norman, and Tanya Jones, the best friend of his daughter, Ashley Spencer. Norman drags his dying body to his daughter and is able to free her from the duct tape that the murderer has bound her with, enabling her to escape while the murderer is downstairs eating a piece of cake and drinking a glass of milk...and that's just the beginning of the terror that Ashley lives through for years before the murderer or murderers are revealed...
