It is a book heavily slanted to the service life of Spruance, but his navy life is his claim to fame. The maps are competent, and the text is clear. ( ![]() An excellent book about one of the best admirals from WW2. He was an excellent planner, choose well and listened to his excellent staff. Honestly concerned about casualties, he was finally convinced about the need for invading Iwo Jima by a meeting with LeMay convinced him that it was necessary to save the crews of the B29s bombing Japan. Samuel Eliot Morison characterized his strengths as: "attention to detail, poise and the power of intelligent decisions." sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
