This includes social care, health, housing, secondary schools, colleges, universities, Connexions, employment and other agencies. The guidelines are necessary because whilst the term Asperger syndrome has become slightly more familiar amongst professionals and the general public, there is little evidence, as yet, to any improvements to the lives of adults with Asperger syndrome. These guidelines give direction for supporting people with Asperger syndrome into better futures. They are presented as a way forward, to put an end to the ongoing confusion about what is needed and who is taking responsibility.
