French. It seemed very French. Part of the plot, with the old guy who won't sell his land because he wants the city to appropriate it, even though the city isn't going to & wouldn't pay him nearly as much if it did, seemed very cultural-based, in how the city works, in the politics of French cities, etc. The politics too, the radicals, and the communists; it was hard to know what any of that actually meant in the French society of the time. Meanwhile the story was certainly psychologically complex, and the transformation of the boys was interesting, as they become a group that can play together & enjoy themselves at the end. I wasn't sure if he treated masturbation as a pathology; it is a driving force in the one boy's life; getting caught endangers him and the result is that he stops and joins society? sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
