Saki was the pseudonym used by H.H. Munro (1870-1916), a British author and journalist who is best remembered for his short stories, which The Encyclopedia of Fantasy calls "witty, barbed and epigramatic." Oh, my sweet Jesus, how I love Saki! His stories are at times funny, disturbing, brash and tragic, but they never lack in wit or the honesty (and frailty) of human nature. It amazes me how many times I've lent this book out only to have people "forget" that they ever borrowed it from me, and these are people who normally dislike short stories, or aren't big readers in general. My heartless answer will forever be, "Get your own copy."
