Fear Street # 68 I know these weren't written by Stine, but Al has some seriously awful, tone-deaf parents which is very Stine. Disappointed with the chemistry set he receives for his birthday instead of the latest rollerblades. Al Sterner and his friend Colin try to make a stink-bomb to throw at his sister Michelle's chess club meeting. Instead they make an ooze. Everything the ooze touches goes real dumb. Like, really dumb. This book had a lot more open humor to it which I appreciated. I remember really liking it as a kid and it still holds up today. At least until the dénouement. I really didn't need that explanation. It was...like, really dumb. However, there's a scene where every team of the Science Bowl has been compromised by the ooze and one student, Toad, insists that ecology has to do with money. His father does that. From the audience, Toad's father yells "I'm an ECONOMIST!" Great fun. Al's stink bomb doesn't explode... And it doesn't smell. It just sits there. Some chemistry set, Al thinks. Big deal. And then it starts to ooze. It oozes all over the cat. It oozes all over Al's best friend. Everything the ooze touches...changes. Forever. And now the ooze is coming right at Al! Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
