Review: Through the fantasy of the book the reader is able to see the adventure of the little boy. The fantasy allows the boy travels on a toy ship with the moon to the factory that seems to be in another world. The event is made to be believable through the realistic life of the boy.

Setting: The setting of the book starts in the boy's house. He is in his house when his mom tells him he has to go to bed, it is then that the moon takes him on an adventure. This adventure sends him to the "Moonpowder Factory" which is where the remainder of the book takes place.

So, I'm in love with John Rocco and checked out each of his books at the library. I began with Wolf, Wolf! and continued with Moonpowder. In this story Eli is having a hard time sleeping at night. He keeps having the same nightmore over and over. Until Mr. Moon comes to get his help and takes him to the Moon Station. He tries overcoming his fears to help get Moodpowder that will help everyone on Earth sleep well with nice dreams. My favorite part was when Eli wakes up and find that his soldier father is home from the war!

Fun fact: The book is dedicated to all children of soldiers. I thought that was extremely sweet. ( )

This book is about a boy named Eli Treebuckle. The author writes about his tendency and talent for fixing things around his house. He also had inventions that loved to create. Eli has the same nightmare for many nights in a row and finally decides he is never going to sleep again. Just as his says this, Mr. Moon comes and asks Eli to come and help him fix the "Moonpowder Machine," which distributes the Moonpowder that lets children have sweet dreams. Eli goes with him and finds Moonpowder from Mother Nature, which allows him to fall asleep. He wakes up back at home, refreshed and happy to have sweet dreams back.

This book is about a young boy, Eli Treebuckle, who is the "fixer of all things fixable". He has been having bad dreams for a while and decides not to sleep at all. Mr. Moon comes to visit him and says that the dream machine is broken and that he is the only one who can fix it. They fly to the Moonpowder factory and Eli starts working on the machine. There are no dreams in the Dream Tank so they go to Mother Nature's closet to get some. Eli is faced with the same situation as in his nightmares and must overcome it to get the last known pinch of Moonpowder.

I loved this book. The pictures were amazing and the story was too. In the front of the book there is a dedication to the children of soldiers everywhere. I found this very sweet and the fact that Eli's father is off to war is why he is having bad dreams. In the end, his father returns home. I love a story with a happy ending.

This would be good to use in the classroom as a lesson on overcoming your fears. I would also recommend to parents who have a spouse who is in the military. ( )
