My preference is for more plausible stories, and I found neither the clients nor were their cases all that believable. ( ) The nameless detective works for a San Francisco agency that has two cases that looked simple and turned out to be more complex. One is a wealthy husband who wants his estranged wife with a gambling addiction found, just to make sure she's safe. Once Nameless starts digging he uncovers the lengths the wife has gone to in order to keep gambling. The other case involves a straight-laced, religious young man whose whole personality changes suddenly, causing his mother to ask the agency for help in finding out why. Nameless is hired to find a missing wife with a gambling problem. His agency is also looking into a missing young man by his mother in a pro bono case. They are two separate cases and the missing woman that doesn't want to be found is the more interesting with an ending that I didn't see coming. This would be considered an easy beach read. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

Nameless had told Mitchell Krochek that he'd do whatever he could to find his missing wife, Janice. She'd run away before -- propelled by a gambling fever that rose ever higher -- and Mitch had always taken her back. This time, when Nameless, his partner Tamara, and the agency's chief operative Jake Runyon finally found her in a sleazy San Francisco hotel, she demanded a divorce. A few days later, a beaten and bloody Janice stumbled into the agency begging to go home. No one is surprised when, soon after her homecoming, she disappears again. With Janice missing again, Mitchell is the prime suspect, and as Nameless searches for the truth behind her disappearance, he uncovers a vicious racket that preys on gambling fever victims.
