I liked that her mother brought out the bad teenage years when Cassie was very rebellious and she wrote about how hard it was. Then Cassie is saved through her youth group and through some friends that almost look as rough as the ones she was in trouble with. She loved the Lord and was killed because she said yes, she believed in God. I hope others can learn from this honest account of Cassie Bernall's life. A heartbreaking story; very well told by the victim's mother. I remember reading this book for the first time as a freshman in high school. I had a distasteful view of religion, especially Christianity, at the time, but this book helped me to see past my own presumptions and reached me and touched my heart despite the walls I put up. I recommend this short book not only as a voice from Columbine, but as a voice that will encourage followers of Christ today. This was a very good book. Misty wrote about a difficult time in her family's life. We all think as parents that we are doing what we need to do and that our children our fine. None of us can imagine that what Cassie went through could happen to our kids. Too often we are like Cassie's friend's mother who thought that Misty was going overboard. I commend Misty for making Cassie a real person, someone who could have gone in another direction if not for her parents love and involvement. This is a cry in the night that we as parents must be parents, not just best-friends to our children. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

The mother of Cassie Bernall, one of the high school students murdered in the Columbine shooting incident in Littleton, Colorado, reveals the dramatic journey of a daughter who was, at one point, traveling down a troubled path similar to that of her killers. She tells a story of growing up in the 90's, of peer pressure, adolescent turmoil, and the tough choices parents must make. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
