Being from Florida, I have loved this series because I either didn't pay attention to history or didn't retain what I learned. Risa Magee is the daughter of General Magee and a true Yankee. She tries to go thru enemy lines to warn her friend Alaina that she is in danger. Alaina is married to Ian McKenzie who happens to be Risa's ex-boyfriend.

Jerome McKenzie, Ian's cousin and a rebel, captures Risa and from there the north and south fight over everything. Jerome tries to trust Risa but too many things are happening that indicate she is giving the Yanks information on what the Rebels are doing. I had no idea how this would end but was very surprised.
