Having met the author in person, and gotten much out of his other works, I wished I could have rated this one a bit higher. Unfortunately, the first two-thirds of this oddly-titled book* is largely a rather pedestrian memoir of +Pruter's Depression childhood, and young adulthood as an Oxford Group member, pacifist, and Congregationalist minister.

It gets interesting only when the Protestant Rev. Pruter discovers the Old Catholic movement -- a Christian subculture of apostolic liturgical churches separated from Roman control -- and becomes a Priest, albeit a married and non-Papal one. He rose to become one of this ecclesiastic underground's most prolific authors and tireless advocates, as well as the resident Bishop at "The World's Smallest Cathedral" in Highlandville, MO, now a tourist attraction and a Guinness Book honoree.

This book should mainly be of interest to students of Old Catholicism, Congregationalism or the Oxford Group.
