When it Comes to Badness, There's Nothing New Under the Sun In her best-selling book Bad Girls of the Bible, Liz Curtis Higgs breathed new life into ancient stories depicting eight of the most infamous women in scriptural history, from Jezebel to Delilah. Biblically sound and cutting-edge fresh, Bad Girls already has helped thousands of women experience God's grace anew by learning more about our nefarious sisters. And there are more where they came from! With Really Bad Girls of the Bible, Liz reveals the power of God's sovereignty in the lives of other shady ladies we know by reputation but have rarely studied in depth: Bathsheba, the bathing beauty. Jael, the tent-peg-toting warrior princess. Herodias, the horrible beheader. Tamar, the widow and not-so-timid temptress. Athaliah, the deadly daughter of Jezebel. And three ancient women whose names we do not know but who have much to teach us: the ashamed Adulteress, the bewitching Medium of En Dor, and the desperate Bleeding Woman. The eye-opening stories of these eight "Really Bad" women demonstrate one really life-changing concept: the sovereign power of God to rule our hearts and our lives with grace, compassion, and hope.… (mais)

I ourchased this book from Amazon to read with @kaylasonlyheart. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Really Bad Girls of The Bible More Lessons from Less Than Perfect Women. When we do these bible study reads we get together read about a chapter a day and use our own time to reflect. These two books by Liz Curtis Higgs (Bad Girls of The Bible and What We Can Learn From Them and Really Bad Girls of The Bible More Lessons from Less Than Perfect Women) show you the power and strength of and woman and the power and strength of a woman after faith intervened in her life. Oh how powerful women are. The author takes a biblical story ties it into a modern day story and a section to walk through all the steps of learning just how much of a valuable lesson we can take away from each woman separately. I loved the style in which this book was written. Sometimes while reading the bible you can almost displace yourself because it was so long ago, but with this book and putting a modern spin on a story makes you think wow! Even the problems of biblical times only disguise themselves in today's world. Excellent - normally I would not go for a book that mixes genres ( in this case religion with fictional stories to support the Bible stories ), but Liz managed to write a book that held my attention from beginning to end.

As a 'woman with a past ' herself, much of the book did not fill me with extreme horror as some of it contained things I said, thought or did myself as a young woman. I separate 'bad behavior' due to brokenness, abuse, neglect and being unloved and unwanted as a child to pure evil and sociopathic behaviors and I believe in a Savior who also knows which is which.

I enjoyed this very much and have her other two in the series to read. A ( )

Eight stories of ladies from the Bible, but with a modern twist. Each lady has four sections- the modern story, the Biblical story it comes from and the scripture to support it, "What Lessons Can We Learn" or why is she bad not good and "Good Girl Thoughts Worth Considering" or questions and discussion to think and ponder. For every woman who note to me began, "Dear Liz: You don't know who i am, but you wrote Bad Girls of the Bible for me..."

I do know who are are, dear sister, and I did write that book for you. This one, even more so.

My heart beats with yours as we turn toward the only One who can save us from ourselves.
