A great production. Definitely feels like you're actually reading a modern manga. It also stays pretty true to the actual story. I enjoyed it immensely. ( )

Unlike the Manga Bible, reviewed elsewhere, this is the work of a Christian believer with an almost explicit agenda of converting his readers to his faith. Christian scripture is far to complex to quickly lend itself to such a single-minded purpose, of course, and the results are hilarious: "Do you dare read this story," the book challenges you at one point wondering later if this Jesus could be the long awaited messiah. Pure cheese that distracts a bit from some decent artwork and an interesting, if selective, ramble through the gospel stories. ( )

Even worse than I expected. For one the intelligence of the reader is totally underestimated (even if this is written for children) and second the way in which the main events are featured does not work. In one or two squares Jesus does his superhero duty and then in one square the "students" go vow over what they witness and the same over and over and over again until the relieving death scene. It does not do right for neither, Jesus who struggled with his destiny, and the apostles who struggled with their faith. And even from the "superhero plot" view point there should be more said than just the healing hand and the blind gaining his vision to make the story work. Blah blah. ( )
