Recommended by Digna Nosike, an FA graduate whose Barnard mentor wrote this amazing memoir. Thornton was one of five daughters of poor Black laborers. Amongst other amazing accomplishments the entire family formed a dance band that performed at all the top college across the eastern US to put all the girls through college. The family dream was for all five daughters to become doctors. Read the book to find out how many succeeded and how. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
