I have read the first two books and am currently working on the third. This book is not in my typical genre at all. It was recommended to me by a friend who has similar taste as I do, so I thought I would give it a shot. The stories are interesting. They are easy to read and don't have much depth to them upon first glance. There is obviously some deeper meaning if you look for it (weapons of mass destruction, bioengineering, world domination), however I don't ever feel like the philosophy surrounding these things is the major focal point of the story. Nicolai Dante is a likeable character for the most part and I enjoy that he is considered "the gentleman thief". It is clear, however, that he is more than just a thief and has strong morals. I took breaks between each book because there is a lot of vivid descriptions of violence. I can only take so much in one book.

*Update* I have read the third and final book. There is nothing different or new about the third book that can be added to the above review. There's violence, nudity, government conspiracy, and murder. ( )

Save your money

The writing here is juvenile. Paragraphs are incomplete. Chapters don't scan well. Has the author ever had a writing class?

If you want to read about a thief that is well written and well done, go to Harry Harrison and get the Stainless Steel Rat books.

But wait if you pick this piece of drek up, you'll see that there is a chracter called James di Grizov who is the best thief in the galaxy. But you should know that Harrison's thief was named Jim diGriz... A coincidence? Or this author too weak to be original... ( )
