This copy is the copy my Grandma sue gave Mama when she and Daddy were married. It is is horrid shape, put I keep it because of the notes that have been made in it by my Grandmother and mother. Every collector of Southern food must add this one to the repertoire. This edition, first printed in 1950, showcases Gullah and Lowcountry cuisine as it was originally intended. Just thumbing through the pages takes you back in time. This isn't just one of those community cook books that one has because one has it. I've used this cook book.
