This was the first book I have read from Howell. I enjoyed the characters and the setting. I found the leading lady full of spunk which was great. I liked that Howell wrote Ballard's words in an accent, made it a bit more authentic and allowed me to remember he was Scottish. I also would love to read "Willie's" story. Will look for more books from this author. ( )
