The title refers to the Bible verse that states a three-fold cord is not easily broken (Eccl. 4:12). To that end, Aaron Chapin seems a bit too real for real life--doing his best to keep God at the center of things and praying often, though I do like that he's willing to pray that God will be at the center of his relationship with Renee and being willing to walk away if God says no. However, I am a bit surprised that Aaron doesn't ever suspect Renee with all that goes on.

The author did a good job of having both suspense and romance in this book, however, many of the characters seem to just pop up in a deus ex machina way rather than being hinted at earlier in the book. It does make me wonder if there was a maximum page count for the Heartsong Presents line that involved much editing down, resulting in some earlier foreshadowing getting cut. I ended up suspecting someone else who was in the book more often rather than the person who really did it, though I did guess one of the accomplices correctly.

Renee seems to have developed quite a few enemies in her life: Benny from her childhood and her time with her aunt; Brent, her former boss; David, a former colleague. What is it about her that causes all these men to want to get back at her?

Adam was a cute addition to the story. ( )
