Love this book! I first read this when I was thirteen years old and checked it out of the school library. I read it several times while I was a student at that school. After I moved on, I never saw the book again and forgot the title and author. When I began building my library, I knew I wanted to include all my childhood favorites--especially this one. I tried to find it on bookfinder.com and other places, but the keywords I entered brought up nothing. Then in 1999 I happened to be surfing Ebay. That Jones Girl by Elisabeth Friermood was on auction for an opening bid of $9.99. It looked mildly interesting, so I clicked on it to read the description. In those days, you couldn't enter the ISBN and bring up the details of the book. But the seller had painstakingly typed in the description from the flyleaf. I knew it was my book! I entered a proxy bid. Several times I went back and increased my bid, I was so fearful of being outbid. But I was the only bidder and got it for $9.99 plus shipping! I have never seen another copy go for such a low price--especially one as nice as this one was. The Lord was really looking out for me that day. Since then I have bought at least five more copies. I give them to people and tell them to read it, they'll love it. They always do. ( )
