The beloved King Osiris is murdered by his jealous brother Set and his casket thrown into the Nile. Queen Isis searches all over Egypt to find his body and to set his spirit free. Osiris becomes ruler over the Land of the Dead where Egyptians longed to journey after they died. Isis and Osiris were the most popular of Egyptian deities. The ancient Egyptian burial rites were based upon this story which describes how the first mummy was created.
