Any faith that admires truth, that strives to know God, must be brave enough to accommodate the universe.

The chance of receiving a signal from a civilization exactly as advanced as we are should be minuscule. If they were even a little behind us, they would lack the technological capability to communicate with us at all. So the most likely signal would come from a civilization much more advanced.

Fã do Carl. Tenho o livro e o filme.
Os dois não são exatamente iguais, mas é de longe a única vez que gostei muito de uma adaptação de um livro que eu tenha lido para o cinema.
O livro é encantador, e por noites a fio eu sonhei em ser Ellie Arroway, a protagonista do romance. Suas dúvidas que envolvem a ciência e a religião, quando um padre entra na sua vida também, fazem a narrativa fascinante.
Carl coloca os traumas, e as fragilidades da personagem, deixando-a imensamente humana, sem perder de vista a sua vertente cientÃfica.
Brilhante!!!
O filme tem o seu mérito porque as imagens criadas para representar o espaço sideral são absurdamente maravilhosas!
